Jan Zasadil

I have worked as a proof-reader, translator and web-manager at the Press Centre of the Papal Visit to the Czech Republic (2009) and as a web-manager and foreign editor at the Press Centre of the Czech Bishops' Conference (2012). From 2007 to 2014, I worked as English and German teacher and language teaching methodologist. I was also a contributor to the Czech magazines Bridge and Gate, which specialize in ELT material. In 2014 and 2015, I worked as a project manager of educational projects in life-long education for pedagogues and as a tender administrator in a European Structural Funds framework project. I have also had experience in business representation between 2015 and 2017. From 2017 to 2019, I cooperated extensively with ACTUM Digital in the area of web content management.

On May 21, 2013, I was appointed as Certified Translator by the South Bohemian Regional Court in České Budějovice (sworn in under Reg. No. Spr 606/2013). I have completed a BA study in English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague (2011). In 2009, I studied at the Swiss University of Zurich during an ERASMUS stay. I graduated from high school in 2004 at Port Alberni Secondary School, Port Alberni, BC, Canada, and from the J.N. Neumann's Grammar School, České Budějovice, Czech Republic in 2006.

I hold the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (C2, 2011) and the Sprachdiplom II. Stufe des Kulturministeriums der Bundesrepulik Deutschland (C1 German, 2006). In 2014, I completed the JURIDIKUM supplementary study for certified translators at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, Prague.

My focus in certified translation has mainly laid in certificates, transcripts of records, and certifying documents of various kinds, labour law, family law and inheritance law documents, but also commercial certificates, articles of incorporation, powers of attorney and medical reports. I am experienced in content management of websites and their language versions.
